Introduction

Premante starts like a sweet love story about a newly married couple. But very soon the film changes its mood and tries to become serious and emotional. Priyadarshi and Anandhi do their best, but the movie struggles to balance romance and crime. The idea is good. The movie itself is uneven.

Story (Spoiler Free)

The film shows a happy couple enjoying their early married life. Everything feels normal until a sudden truth about the husband comes out. This changes the whole atmosphere of the story. Instead of slowly building tension, the film jumps too quickly into drama and crime. A constable character is added to bring seriousness, but this track does not blend well with the main plot. Because of this the story feels confused.

Performances

Priyadarshi tries hard and gives a decent performance. But his character changes so quickly that it becomes hard to connect with him. Anandhi does a sincere job and shows good emotion, but she is given limited space to perform.
Suma Kanakala and Vennela Kishore bring some laughs, but their scenes feel separate from the main story. Most supporting actors are not used well.

Direction and Screenplay

The director aims to mix fun, romance, mystery and crime. This is a big challenge and the film does not manage it well. The first half is simple and watchable. The second half becomes slow, stretched and confusing. The crime parts are not explained clearly and the emotional scenes do not feel strong. The ending feels too easy and does not give a satisfying closure.

Technical Aspects

The camera work is neat and the movie looks clean. The music is nice in the lighter scenes but too loud when the story gets serious. The editing should have been tighter because many scenes feel long and unnecessary. The production values are decent but the writing weakens the overall impact.

Highlights

What Works

  1. A few light romantic and comedy scenes in the beginning.
  2. Priyadarshi and Anandhi’s natural chemistry.
  3. Good visuals and simple presentation.

What Does Not Work

  1. Story becomes slow and confusing in the second half.
  2. Genre change from comedy to crime feels sudden.
  3. Weak emotional depth and unfinished character arcs.
  4. Ending feels rushed and does not answer many questions.

Emotional and Thematic Takeaway

Premante tries to talk about trust and hidden truths in a marriage. But the film does not explore these ideas deeply. The message gets lost because the scenes do not create strong feelings. The film wants to be romantic and thrilling at the same time, but it does not achieve either fully.

Verdict and Rating

Verdict: Premante has a nice idea but the movie is not executed well. The first half is simple and pleasant, but the second half drops in quality. It becomes slow and unclear.
Bottomline: A watchable but disappointing film that could have been much better.
Rating: 2.5 / 5
